Another proposal to give management of Idaho's wolves back to the state was introduced in Congress yesterday by Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) and seven other Western legislators.

Congress may lose its best chance to pass a suite of public lands proposals that would protect more than 2 million acres of federal lands as wilderness if it fails to move an omnibus measure in the lame-duck session, conservation groups say.
The "America's Red Rock Wilderness Act," which would preserve 9.4 million acres of pristine land across eastern Utah, isn't supported by a single member of the state's congressional delegation and might never be approved by Congress.
