Members of Utah's Congressional delegation have announced that the U.S. Congress has passed a measure that will transfer federal lands currently held by the Army Corps of Engineers within Camp Williams to the State of Utah for use by the National Guard.

Congressman Rob Bishop, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, announced that the U.S. House of Representatives has approved millions of dollars in funding authorizations for military spending in Utah as well as a land transfer for the Utah National Guard at Camp Williams, as part of two defense-related bills passed today.

Hill Air Force Base may be receiving $5.4 million soon for the construction of a new fire station there, thanks to a provision sponsored by Congressman Rob Bishop (R-Utah).  The funding is part of the annual Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill, which the U.S. House of Representatives approved early Friday morning.
