 The U.S. House of Representatives passed today, by a margin of 216-214, the final version of the Deficit Reduction Act, which will reduce government spending and cut the deficit. By slowing the growth of federal outlays and reforming portions of the government's annual mandatory spending, the overall bill will save taxpayers nearly $40 billion over the next five years - about $300 per taxpayer.
